We stayed at the Posada La Mariquinta for four nights in July of 2008. It was our second stay, and we loved it. Outside the open double window a lush tropical garden, dripping from the chipi chipi and full of gorgeous aromatic flowers. At night we were serenaded by tiny frogs in the lush wetness that can be Xalapa. Each time we left the busy street to our refuge in the Posada La Mariquinta we were reminded of what a magical and beautiful place it is. Truly the best accomodations we have had any where in Mexico. Highly recommended. Thank you Jean Luc for such wonderful memories.

We stayed at the Posada La Mariquinta for three nights in July of 2007. We loved it, and we're planning on going back in July of 2008. The lady working in the "office" was very welcoming, and the whole place is very relaxed. The room was beautiful, and it's fun staying in such an old and interesting place. The price is unbeatable. The location is perfect. I almost don't want to recommend this hotel, but would rather keep it for ourselves. Wonderful place.

My daughter, son-in-law, a family friend, and I recently spent 4 nights at La Mariquinta in October 2007. This was my fifth visit to Xalapa but my first time staying at La Mariquinata. I chose it this time because we would be celebrating my daughter's birthday and my daughter and son-in-law's wedding anniversary during our stay and I wanted Jean Luc's help with the details of that celebration. He could not have been more accomodating. From recommending restaurants, to ordering flowers and a delicious cake from a French Bakery in Xalapa, every detail was attended to with perfection.
As for the hotel itself, the rooms and accomodations were everything that this web page advertises and more. Jean Luc also was helpful in recommending numerous other restaurants and outings during our stay. I would highly recommend La Mariquinta to anyone who wants to be treated as a guest rather than a customer. I plan to stay there again soon myself.

We had a wonderful stay at La Mariquinta July 2005. The hotel is beautiful and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Assistance is available in English and French for those with a weak knowledge of Spanish. We highly recommend this hotel to all those looking for a hotel with colonial charm(and at a very reasonable price, by U.S. standards.)

Lo recomiendo ampliamente. Es un lugar magico, dentro de xalapa. Desde la entrada, asi como la combinacion entre lo colonial y moderno.

La Posada "La Mariquinta" es una excelente opción de "casa fuera de casa".
Mi esposa y yo visitamos Jalapa este Diciembre del 2003 y decidimos hospedarnos en La Mariquinta debido a que hace muchos años fue casa de mi abuelo y ahi crecio mi Papá.
Nuestra estancia fue muy agradable. La Posada está en una casa colonial muy bonita y muy grande en la que se aprovecharon los espacios para incluir varias suites muy cómodas. La casa está en un lugar super céntrico de Jalapa, muy cerca de muy buenos restaurantes, que por cierto, recomiendo ampliamente el restaurante "Il Pomodoro".
Ademas de todo, la administración de la Posada es muy profesional y la calidad del servicio excelente.

What a beautiful city.
I cannot get your good coffee because I don't speak spanish. I had a wonderfull day there in February. I ate at a resturaunt on the second floor in the middle of the town. I would love to know the name of that place. the food was wonderful. The thought of your city keeps me warm all winter.

We have stayed twice at Posada La Mariquinta, both times for over a week. It is charming, very pretty, very comfortable, very quiet, which is quite startling when you consider that it is right on a busy downtown street which of coure makes it very convenient. Relatives have also stayed and enjoyed it.

We were fortunate to have located Posada La Mariquinta on the web. We dedicated fourteen days to Xalapa and environs and stayed at La Mariquinta for the entire time.What a wonderful decision. The room was most comfortable, privacy and security were assured, the staff was first rate and Jean-Luc was the perfect host who took every opportunity to ensure our enjoyment of his guest hotel and the city. Realmente es un lugar hermoso, con preciosos jardines. Al estar ubicada en el centro de Xalapa, facilita la visita a la parte mas atractiva de la ciudad.

La Mariquinta, with its beautiful gardens,
provided an ideal retreat for my family. The thoughtful room arrangements make it
wonderfully livable in a way that most hotels are not. Jean-Luc and his staff welcomed us
courteously and helped us to choose the right room for our needs; and when we accidentally
left my 3-year-old's "blankie" behind, Jean-Luc immediately located it and sent
it to us, with good-humored understanding of the crisis he was averting. An exceptional
hotel; we will return.

Estuvimos casi tres dias en Jalapa,
una ciudad muy tranquila aunque demasiado lluviosa, realmente estuvimos muy bien en La
Mariquinta, es un lugar súmamente tranquilo, limpio y agradable, y el dueño es una
persona realmente amable. No sé si volveremos a Jalapa pero en caso de que así sea no

We just came back from a 10 night
stay in a mini suite and were delighted. It was clean, comfortable and felt
like home to us. Everything was as described on the web site. Our room was perfect
for an extended stay. We very much appreciated the privacy, security and quiet.
You not only get a room key, but a key to the front door. There is no lobby,
you step right into the courtyard from the street - sudden serenity. Our camarista,
Bertha, was wonderful and so willing to help us in any way.

I just returned from Xalapa, Ver. Mexico I
stayed 14 days at the Posada La Mariquinta and if I was to go to Xalapa again I would
again try to rent a bugalow at the Mariquinta. The Mariquinta is within walking distance
from main street and the town square. The place was quiet and very clean.
Jean-Luc and his staf where very nice and
very helpful. I apreciated this very much.
I recommend the Mariquinta for the traveler
that needs a quiet place to stay.

Our family group of five found La
Mariquinta a place-of-rest each of the 9 nights we stayed there. La Mariquinta has the
only Internet presence and it is just what it advertises itself to be: attractive,
centrally located, reasonable and in a historic site. Jean-Loc was attentive, informative

My 2 night visit to La Mariquinta
was the best part of my tripp to Mexico.
I had a mini suite that met my
needs and then some. I could not believe that I was staying at such a nice place, it is
like a palace inside. I felt so at home thaks to the staff they did everything they could
to make me feel welcome and I did.
I recommend this place to anyone
who wants to feel secure and comfortable when in jalpa. It's better than being at home and
I will be back for sure.

We stayed at the Posada Mariquinta
at the time of my neice's wedding. It was also the holiday week of Guadelupe in the middle
of December. The city was very busy. The Posada was an Oasis. The Inn is very clean, well
kept and located close to the center of Jalapa. The view of the snow capped volcano
reminded me of the Northwest USA landscape.
All in all I would give the Posada
Mariquinta one of the highest marks for its intimatacy and friendly owners.

We really enjoyed our six
night stay at the Posada La Mariquinta in November, 1999.We were able to walk
two blocks and be in the center of downtown.We could see a snow capped, inactive,
15000 ft. volcano.You and your staff treated us with great hospitality. The
hot showers, cable tv, and refrigerator were super. The new rooms and suites
blend very well with the original building. Thanks for the help, and sincere
hospitality. We will be back.

My only hesitation in recommending
La Mariquinta is that I am afraid it will get so popular I might have trouble getting a
reservation. I spent a delightful week in Xalapa and my stay at La Mariquinta was one of
the highlights. Jean-Luc and his staff were attentive and dealt with my requests promptly
and with a smile. La Mariquinta is really a hidden gem in a beautiful city.

Our first visit to La Mariquinta
was a delight.
We spent 5 days in a Mexican
village where no tourists go. We enjoyed every minute of it, but the facilities were,
after all, village facilities, so staying the night at La Mariquinta on our way back to
Mexico City was the Oasis. Jean-Luc was the perfect innkeeper, even going out of his way
to provide me with a lttle extra comfort I needed.

La Mariquinta est un petit paradis citadin au
coeur de Xalapa : bungalows privés entourés d'une végétation luxuriante, architecture
style coloniale. Un accueil remarquable et trés professionnel de la part de
ses propriétaires : Concha & Jean-Luc (et en plus ils parlent français!!!).
